Quick answer

What is Practiclear?

Practiclear is a Virginia-only, adult-only, direct-pay online telehealth service for students, nurses, healthcare workers, and new hires who need selected screening-lab documentation for school, clinical, employment, or compliance files. Practiclear is online with no appointment required for most orders: a Virginia nurse practitioner reviews each request before Practiclear sends a Labcorp requisition, outside laboratories perform specimen testing, results are reviewed after they return, and a signed documentation letter is prepared only when the reviewed information supports it. Practiclear focuses on screening-lab documentation such as TB blood testing, selected immunity titers, and limited existing-record review. It is not emergency care, urgent care, vaccine administration, primary care, occupational medicine, diagnosis or treatment of acute illness, or a promise that an institution will accept documentation. Pricing is posted upfront, and ordering starts with an eligibility check before secure payment and the secure health form.

How does Practiclear work?

Practiclear starts with eligibility and a secure health form when ordering is available. A Virginia nurse practitioner reviews whether the request fits the limited service scope before Practiclear sends a Labcorp requisition is sent. If appropriate, outside laboratory testing is routed, results are reviewed, and limited documentation may be prepared.

Who is Practiclear for?

Practiclear is for adults physically located in Virginia who need selected screening-lab documentation for school, clinical rotation, employment, or healthcare-workforce files. It is not for urgent symptoms, emergencies, active illness, minors, or people outside Virginia at the time of service.

What can Practiclear help document?

Practiclear is designed around selected screening labs such as QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus, MMR immunity, Varicella IgG, Hep B surface antibody, and limited existing-record review. The receiving school, employer, clinical site, or compliance platform still makes the final acceptance decision.

How do I start?

Start with the eligibility check, choose the service that matches your requirement, review the legal and scope disclosures, and continue to secure payment. Secure clinical intake happens only after payment verification.

Verified, not promised

A real Virginia provider — and documentation built to be filed.

What your letter meets

Formatted for documentation review.

Formatted for the documentation requirements of nursing programs, clinical rotation sites, and healthcare employers — including the formats CastleBranch and Complio reviewers typically expect.

  • CDC tuberculosis screening criteria — interpretation and screening-result documentation consistent with CDC guidance for IGRA results.
  • OSHA bloodborne pathogen standard — Hep B titer documentation formatted for occupational health files.
  • Virginia school health requirements — MMR and Varicella titer letters formatted for college and nursing-program health forms.
  • Provider-signed PDF on Practiclear letterhead — with license number, NPI, and date. Formatted to track standards schools and employers already use.

Acceptance is subject to each institution's own policies. If a school or employer has questions, they can use the letter verification page or email Practiclear from an institutional address.

How it works

Online, but not automatic.

The flow is eligibility screening, a secure health form, Virginia nurse practitioner review, Labcorp requisition and draw instructions when appropriate, result review, and signed documentation or referral guidance.

  1. Eligibility & secure health form

You confirm Virginia location, adult status, and basic eligibility, then submit health information through a secure health form when ordering is open.

  2. Clinician review before labs

A Virginia nurse practitioner reviews the request before Practiclear sends a Labcorp requisition. If the request is outside Practiclear's limited scope, follow-up or referral may be required.

  3. Labcorp draw & result review

If appropriate, Practiclear sends your Labcorp requisition and draw instructions by secure email. The nurse practitioner reviews results before signed documentation is prepared or follow-up guidance is sent.

Turnaround depends on lab processing time, which varies by test, and on clinician review after results are available. Practiclear does not replace a primary care clinician, urgent care, public health evaluation, or occupational medicine exam.

Why Practiclear

I have been through this process — and it's painful.

As an Emergency Nurse Practitioner I've watched students cycle through urgent cares for PPDs, return 48–72 hours later for a reading they might be too late for, and call clinics begging for vaccination records that nobody can find. As a healthcare-quality PhD student at VCU, I've studied exactly this kind of broken process. I built Practiclear to make limited screening documentation simpler without pretending it replaces a full clinical evaluation.

Frequently asked

What people ask before they order.

Will my school or employer actually accept the documentation letter?

Practiclear documentation is prepared to support school, clinical, employment, or program file requirements based on the information and results available. Your school, employer, clinical site, or program makes the final decision about whether documentation is accepted.

How fast do I get my results and documentation letter?

Lab processing time varies by test and collection site. After results are available, a Virginia nurse practitioner reviews them and prepares limited documentation when criteria are met, or provides follow-up or referral guidance when the result is outside Practiclear's limited scope.

Why a blood test (QuantiFERON) instead of a PPD skin test?

A PPD requires two visits 48–72 hours apart, and missing the reading window means starting over. QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus is a single blood draw. Patients with active symptoms or high-risk exposure may need care outside Practiclear's limited scope.

Is this covered by insurance?

No. Practiclear is direct-pay. Pricing is posted before checkout, there is no insurance billing, and the price covers review, Labcorp requisition routing when appropriate, result review, signed documentation letters, secure record handling, and limited follow-up guidance.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Many HSA/FSA cards can be used at checkout. Individual card approval and reimbursement still depend on your card issuer and plan rules, so Practiclear cannot guarantee that a specific card or plan will approve the transaction.

What am I paying for?

You are paying for the Practiclear service: eligibility review, nurse practitioner review, Labcorp requisition routing when appropriate, result review, secure handling, and signed documentation when the reviewed information supports it. Payment does not guarantee a lab order or letter.

Where do I actually get the blood draw?

After you complete the secure health form, a Virginia nurse practitioner reviews whether the request fits Practiclear's scope before Practiclear sends a Labcorp requisition. If appropriate, Practiclear sends requisition and draw instructions by secure email.

Does Practiclear own the lab or receive lab referral payments?

No. Practiclear does not own the laboratory that performs your test and does not receive referral fees, rebates, commissions, or volume-based compensation from the laboratory. You are free to seek testing elsewhere.

Can I get testing somewhere else?

Yes. Testing may be available through other clinicians, schools, employers, health departments, pharmacies, or laboratories. Outside laboratories perform testing; Practiclear does not perform specimen testing. Laboratory accreditation or CLIA information may be provided in the lab report or made available upon request.

What if my result is positive or unusual?

Practiclear does not provide a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation or treatment. Some screening results may require additional review, follow-up, referral, public health follow-up, or evaluation outside Practiclear's limited scope.

Do I have to be physically located in Virginia?

Yes. Practiclear is Virginia-only. You must be physically located in Virginia at the time of service and be 18 or older. Do not use Practiclear for emergencies, urgent symptoms, active illness, or symptoms that require immediate evaluation.

I already have lab results — do I need to repeat the test?

Often, no, but Practiclear records review is being prepared as a separate secure upload workflow and is not currently available in checkout. Contact Practiclear if you already have records you need reviewed.

Is this a real telehealth visit, or just a lab order?

It is a telehealth service reviewed by a Virginia nurse practitioner. Practiclear reviews eligibility and appropriateness, orders labs when appropriate, reviews results, and prepares signed documentation or follow-up guidance within its limited service scope.
