Quest vs Practiclear FAQ

Questions students ask before deciding

Does Practiclear order through Quest or Labcorp?

Practiclear's current lab workflow uses a Labcorp draw. Quest is not in the current Practiclear workflow. Existing-record review is deferred until a dedicated secure upload workflow exists. No new Quest order is created through Practiclear.

Will my Quest direct-to-consumer lab result be accepted by my clinical program?

Depends on the program. Some programs accept a lab result from a recognized laboratory without a clinician letter; many programs require the result plus a signed clearance letter. The receiving program makes the final acceptance decision. Practiclear's existing-record review path is deferred until a dedicated secure upload workflow exists.

If Quest is cheaper for the lab alone, why use Practiclear?

Same answer as vs Labcorp OnDemand: if the program requires a signed clearance letter, the cost of getting that letter through a separate PCP visit or administrative-fee request typically erases Quest's lab-alone price advantage. Practiclear bundles the order, the Virginia NP review, and the letter into one direct-pay price per service.

Next step

The lab result is table stakes. The letter is the product.

If you already have a Quest result, contact Practiclear before sending records. If you need new screening labs, start an order: the bundled Virginia NP review and signed letter are part of the price.
